I purchased a Sony RDR GX7 with the hopes of creating DVD's for my friends.
However It seems with ANY DVD R's I use they can only be played back on my recorder! Did I get the wrong machine?
Can I use a different disc or setting to solve this or am I screwed?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance,
Rob

DVD-R discs need to be "finalized" before they will play in any other player. There should be an option somewhere on the menu for this. Once you finalize however, no further video can be recorded to the disc, so make sure you have recorded all that you want on the disc first.

I did finalize the discs!!
Still they will only play in the sony machine.
I tried 5 other dvd players and 2 computers. It simply doesn't read them. Any other ideas?
