  1. Hi everyone
    OK I'm pretty new with all of this VCD authoring, and need some help now.
    I am in the process of capturing all of my laserdiscs and put them on VCD format. No films, most of them collections of videoclips and concerts.
    Most of them are not longer than 70 minutes, so I already captured several of them with VirtualDub, started frameserving and encoded them with TMPGEnc (BTW, I'm using "Low Quality" (Fast encode), as I don't see any difference between high and low quality processes' results on my 29 inches TV (Sony).
    OK, when I get the MPEG, I simply create (on concerts) cuepoints with TSCV and burn the CUE/BIN file with XDuplicator. The result is really great. A compliant VCD that works perfect in my standalone Phillips 951 Player.
    OK..., now the problems:

    Some laserdiscs are recorded on both sides: half the concert on each side, so I need to "join" the MPEGs.
    I guess (not sure about this though) that joing the captured AVIs is not possible since they are 2 GB each. So I guess my only option is to work with the resulting MPEGs.
    OK, so the first question is:

    Which program would be the easiest (and hopefully the "best" regarding the quality of the result&quot to use to join two MPG files? No edition needed. Just join them in order to have one single MPG file of the whole concert to create the cuepoints.

    Well, that was my first question

    Second one: By joining MPGs, will I loose quality or is it possible that will loose video/audio synch?

    Now to the edit problem:

    Let's say I only need to "erase" 10-20 frames at the beggining or the ending of the MPG: which program would be the best to do this? Just select them, erase them and get the new mpg file without those frames.

    And finally: in case I want to "fade in" and "fade out" not only AUDIO on an mpg, but also VIDEO (this is called a "transition" I think... not sure though): which program I should use?

    OK..., those were the questions
    Regarding the programs I have, I have almost downloaded them all, and "almost" all are fully functional now. I even have Premiere 5, Premiere 6, Unlead Media Studio Pro 6.0, etc.
    Hope any of you can help me))))))
    Thank you SO VERY MUCH) I'll be waiting online for your help to arrive}
