  1. I go to Nero Burning Rom and selct - DVD VIDEO - NEW - Then I go to the file where my compile is (C:/Dvd Volume/) and select the two files in the video folder, but one will not copy across to be burnt. I get this message:

The following files may not reside in the VIDEO_TS directory of a DVD-Video compilation: VTS_01.VOB

I dont belive I have done something differennt to the last dvd I made so why wont this work?

    Thanks

  2. One thing that is different is that I have a slide show in this one. I will try it without.

  3. Makes no difference.
When I compile either with or without the slide show, the only two files that are in the Video_ts folder are Vts_01.vob and Vts_01_1.vob

Should there be more than just these files. Why are there only these files. Anything I can do?

Please please give me a suggestion of somethhing I can do.

  4. How did you "compile" the vob's?

  5. With DVDLab. The one it wont accept is actually the main menu, but if I try to play it on the computer it seems to act like a video file. Just plays with the background song going on and the buttons wont activate.

  6. Did you check the connections tab to make sure things are pointing where they should?
Why use Nero? DVDLab's built in burner (ASPI based) works extremely well (on most burners).
If Nero is your only option, are we talking about Nero Burning Rom, or Nerovision Express?
If the former, simply insist on a non-compliant burn.
If the latter, quit using it.
In the middle of a compile right now in dvdlab, and there is a VTS_01.VOB (as there should be) in the VIDEO_TS folder.
Are you manually dragging the vobs into the video_ts folder in Nero, or dragging the whole VIDEO_TS folder? I do the latter, and haven't had any troubles.
Connections tab should be from Firstplay to main menu/VTS/Root, then from there to your chapters menu or feature play.
As dvdlab compiles it, the main menu actually becomes a sort of video, static, but with audio (in this case).
I have a feeling you haven't linked any buttons on the main menu to the actual videos or chapters menus.
The main menu will simply loop (which is what yours is doing).

  7. All my buttons are linked (of course). I have also tryed ignoring the error message and burning anyway, but it wont work in the dvd player. I believe that the finished compile is missing files. The only files that are there are - Vts_01.vob and Vts_01_1.vob - Now I'm sure there are ment to be more files than just these. What about IFO or BUP files. I dont see what is so different about this dvd to the last. I cant understand why it wont compile properly.

  8. OK, I wasn't too sure how well you knew dvdlab.
It seems that it's not outputting the right (or enough) of the files needed for the actual compilation.
I would suggest a reinstall of dvdlab first.
Maybe pose this question over on the dvdlab/mediachance forum at http://www.mmbforums.com/

  9. Ok, Ive worked it out. I had in the Mmenus playing in the background. Wavs of full length songs. They were too long, so I just took clips and now it works fine. Thanks for trying to help me reboot.
