I have been using studio 8 for quite a while because of how easy it is. however I have never liked its performace... my computer hangs [u]constantly while Im editing and it takes forever to render and its too buggy. (I have Win XP, 1.8 GHz and 1 gig of ram and lots of hard disk space and my videos are usually 30 minutes or less in length)
Are there any other good programs out there that are as easy to use as pinnacle and function better? I dont need lots of bells and whistles.
Thanks so much,
Nancy

Microsoft's Moviemaker 2 is exremely easy to use, probably even easier than Pinnacle. It's a free download, for xp users only, and does all of the basic editing functions. You can save your project in avi, and then use other sofware to render and burn.

Try Ulead's Videostudio 8 (same level and price as Studio 8, but Ulead is more stable in my experience - very different DVD authoring environment) or Sony Vegas Video (advanced editor, more expensive, but I find it very easy to use and never had a bug). You need another program for DVD authoring if you use Vegas.
Both are available as trials from their respective websites.
