  1. Hi,

    I have a Sony TRV 140 (Digital8)
and when I film some scene with sufficient movement or make a faster movement with camara(Traveling) the DV image, gotten after passing the film with the fireware card to the PC, is'not clear and the contours of the figures are with small horizontal traces. Why this happens? How can I solve this problem?

    Thank's

    Welcome to the forum AC

The problem with viewing interlace video on the PC is the horizontal streeks on movement. This is normal as the PC is progressive scan.

I have the same camera and when I capture with composite input it looks normal on the TV out of the video capture card (Matrox G400). But when I capture using FireWire the field order is reversed on the same capture card TV out and looks stroby. Are you judging the video on the PC or TV out?

Anyway, when encoding to MPEG with TMPGEnc, use bottom filed first and all will be well again.

  3. Hi,

I see those horizontal streeks on the PC, in the TV I don't see so but this movement give a not clear images. I have another analog camera, Sony TRV 48 and the movement images are more clear.
What you mean about to use "bottom filed" with TMPGEnc ?
I use TMPGEnc to encode the film but if I convert to DVD, for example, I continue to see those "horizontal streeks", only encoding to MPG1 (VCD) that all it's fine.
What it's the better configuration, or must I capture from my TRV 140 not with FireWire but with Composite?

P.S. My english is not very good, so I'm portuguese.

    Thank's
