Sony DRU-530A question

I just picked up one of these yesterday and installed it with Nero 551056.

It has firmware 1.0e and was mfg Mar 2004.

I keep hearing how this is a rebadged Optorite ...

Can the DRU-503A do HDburn ?

There is no mention of this in the Sony documentation.

I just checked in the drop down menu in Nero where I can normally choose from CD, DVD or HDBurn and HDBurn is not there.

Is it just a question of firmware ?

Or is it a case that Optorite made parts, such as the board, but the chips are different and it can't do it ?

Actually, I think both the Sony and the Optorite are based on Sanyo hardware. Both the Sony and Optorite are basically "rebadged" Sanyo's.
