  1. Whenever i try to frameserve to TMPGEnc using virtual dub, i save the VDR file, TMPGEnc 2.01, TMPGEnc beta 12J both WONT OPEN IT! they just freeze. TMPGEnc beta 12a WILL open it, but the picture is messed up , and tripled in one frame. What the hell is going on, ive tried raising priority of directshow in all versions. No avail. what do i do.

  2. No guarentee this will work, but I've been having problems with my TMPGEnc freezing up. Anyways, here's my suggestion.

    1. Make sure you're installing the AVISynth. And not just installing it... I'd install it and then reboot. I noticed that cleared up some problems.

    2. If TMPGEnc freezes... wait about 15 seconds, then Ctrl - Alt - Delete and close it (since it says it's not responding). Then reopen TMPGEnc and open your file and it usually works for me the second time around.

    3. I notice if I use a new project and load the file, TMPGEnc is more likely to crash. Do a project with the same settings you want with a normal AVI, then just change the Video Source to the VDR file and it should load up nicely. Again, a pain, but it works for me. Good luck.

  3. Disable the Directshow support, recheck that VFAPI is installed and reinstall the vdub frameserver support

  4. Thanks for the help, i got it working, but the frames are serving slower than the encoder, which means some mean encoding times. Its taking me 30 hours for a 51 minute video. I guess thats a result of having PC66 ram, and a celeron 400.
