  1. Hi
i am trying to convert an avi movie onto dvd by using canopus procoder.
i loaded the avi into canopus and it told me it was going to take 8 hours to convert..when i got back to it today..the converted file was 8gb..too big for dvd.
does anyone know how i solve this problem ?

    Thanks

    did you choose dvd?
did you check under advanced settings so the size was set to dvd-r/w?
is your source a divx or xvid with mp3 audio?

I'm currently testing procoder express, it is very easy to use and it can author also. I will maybe make a basic guide for it. One strange thing is that the default dvd size is set to 4700 MB.

I predict a sizable influx of Procoder Express users.

  4. i did not set the size to dvd-r/w why dont i need to set that to dvd-r then..why dvd-r/w ?

this is what i have selected on each page of procoder...

when i am going through the procoder..i dident use the "set in point" or "set out point" not sure what it's for yet..only had this program yesterday.

i did not use the cropping tool either.

the source is xvid with ac3.

i used the option.."use wizard to select a target"

    selected DVD

the middle option..MPEG2 program stream (m2p)

    then constante bitrate CBR

and set the time to 90 mins.

    are these settings correct?

    Thanks

    Wingman.
