Does anyone know of any sites sort of similar to this one but dealing with Audio recording. I want to convert a pile of vinyl to CD-R and a site like this with all its tips and advice would really help better the quality of what I can achieve.
Thanks in advance.

TapeOp Messageboards
Homerecording.com Messageboards
Those are the two I hit most frequently.
sucessful transfer is relative, but your best bet is to have a quality soundcard, preferebly with RCA or 1/4" inputs, a good mixer or reciever with a tape out, high-quality cables, and a good turntable with a fresh needle.
on the software side, you can do a lot with freeware, Audacity is a decent audio editor. Wavelab is good, SoundForge is good.- housepig
