Can I do analog capture with Sony MicroMV Camcorder?

I'm looking to capture my VHS tapes as well as my Camcorder tapes so that I can convert them to DVDs. I have a Sony DCR-IP5 MicroMV HandyCam. Is this possible to do with my camcorder?

It is my experience (ip7bt) that you can capture to tape only. No direct passthrough capability. You use the same cable you use to play to a tv, and you set the mode in one of the menus.

Your bigger problem will be getting it from the cam to the computer. I've had to send mine back to sony because the capture over firewire doesn't work for me. I've tried Studio 8 and the movieshaker software, with no consistent luck.
