  1. How can I make a DVD backup 9 to 5 and keep the DVD-Rom data intact?

I tried autoISO, but when I tested it, the DVD drive said the disc was in an unrecognizable format (it played on standalone fine).

When you compress the video in whatever program you're using make sure you set the output size to leave enough room for the ROM data. Then when in your burning program, put the video data in the VIDEO_TS folder and the ROM data in whatever folder you want by dragging it either from the DVD-9 itself or copy it to your HD first.

  3. Let me add more details and tell me if this is what you mean.

One example I own is the Matrix series. I want to use a copy on my PC and for viewing when I travel, keeping the original safe.

I normally use DVD Decrypter to rip an DVD shrink to burn. I just tried Auto ISO, which is a front end that rips with Shrink and burns with Decrypter, and has an option to save DVD-Rom data.

I checked the rom checkbox and let it do it's stuff. The finished DVD plays fine in both DVD players I own, but my computer says it is UDF format and cannot read it. (Windows dvd stats stated it was 7.5 GB, but it is only a 4.7 DVD+R)

If I go with my usual style, can I rip with Decrypter, shrink with DVD shrink, and use ReAuthor to add the dvd-rom content to the image file for burning it?

    Thanks,
    Mike
