    Hey everyone,

I am thinking of getting a copy of Final Cut Express, and I was wondering which book, guide, movie, ect. would be best for me to use to learn how to use the product. Any reviews on these items or recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

If you don't get an adequate response here, you can always try looking on Amazon for reviews posted for the various books 'n stuff that pertain to this program. I do that a lot for many different products that I consider purchasing. I use Epinions.com for that purpose as well.

  3. I'm one of those nerds you always see at Barnes and noble reading books in the comfy chair... do that till you find a book yourself that fits what you want to learn. Most do an adiquate job of teaching you basics.
    1. If you want to be textbook- get the Apple training series book.
    2. if you're more interested in fun graphics- take a look at the tons of books out there and find one with effects/ ect. that you want to mimic... then do that, (or just take a pen and paper and write them down - you can't buy every book that has a cool effect- especially with the big- ass prices!!!! What.... WHAT???? (OK I'm cheap)

There is a UK magazine called Mac Design that may also supplement your learning. We can get it in the B&N equivalent in Canada, so maybe its available wherever you are. They have a variety of tutorials on things to do with Final Cut.
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

  5. DV Creators makes a great learning cd series for Final Cut Pro. The differences between Pro and Express are relatively minimal, and it will get you up and running faster than slogging through a book. Also consider their shooting great dv cds as they go a long way towards learning lighting, composition, shot selection etc.
