I cannot agree more. Although I might add I have only ever had 1 problem with Nero 6.0.0.15 not recognising my DVD burner. An upgrade to 6.0.0.23 fixed that though.Originally Posted by arcorob

Canada pisses everyone off. We're naturally good at it
We're all (mostly) not afraid to call a spade a spade, which adds to our pissing off of others quite nicely thankyou
I give back, because others gave to me. Maybe not specifically on this forum, but the help I recieved in a multitude of areas still outweighs the amount of help I may be able to provide to others.

Only once, 2 years ago, a Canadian send me one of my guides corrected "Political Correct" way.
I don't really give so much anntenion to this issue (bashing, hijacking, how you call it anyway...), but if you remember only recently someone ask me about my level of education... (based on the fact that I was drank and spelled "important" as "importand"). Yeah, that one locked before I weak up and reply...

No, I'm not kidding and yes I edit it a bit! I had to, there was so much negative feed back about my use of english!
That's why I start my latest guide (what to buy, etc) by saying "I don't wish to be PC"!
Don't count the times the phrase "ain't" I used to use so much until last year, was the reason of accusations like "you are butchering the English language"
-
HAHAHA. I would have posted two guides, with one titled, "The guide to whatever for CANADIANS!", with a HUGE bold credit to the person that edited it, and another with the title, "The guide to whatever for the rest of the world".
Cheers, Jim

I do post on several forums (mostly in the UK) and no matter what the subject, punch-ups break out here and there. Some of the worst I have seen have been on Sci-Fi sites where the Star Trek fans want to kill Dr Who fans and vice versa! But there is a case in point that people have taken sides, but getting agressive over a Telly programme; good grief!
Now the most polite forum that I have been involved with is the one for a British PC magazine where the community bend over backwards to help out other posters. The Mods for this site are pretty speedy to stamp out any problems. However, they did suffer from a server attack recently - there will always be someone p*ssing about!
Thankfully, the experience that I have on VCDHelp (sorry but that is how I found it and how I will go on calling it - it is still a Marathon Bar too!) has been much the same.Cole

I think Indy and me would get along quite well if we lived closer. Like him, I'm the same on a screen or with words from my mouth. Makes no difference.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I bother for two reasons:
1) generally, if I come into this forum with a problem, I can get at least a point in the right direction or a fresh & helpful perspective on the problem within a matter of hours.
2) amidst the flaming, hostility, non-responsiveness and attitude that can float around this board, many times I'll see a question, I'll have an answer, and it turns out to be the right one. and the person is so stoked about it, that I can't help but feel glad I posted the reply.- housepig

I personally don't think a person can be complete without a sense of humor. Humor results in positive emotions making the person feel better. Some people take humor too far and get their kicks by subjecting others to harmful scenarious or whatever. Basically, what I am trying to say is that, I appreciate humor on forums. If someone says, "Nero Sucks Ass, All Should Abandon It!" I will post a reply and correct them saying, "Nero didn't work good for you for whatever reason, worked fine for me so why should I get rid of it just because you're angry? If it worked for you, you wouldn't be telling someone else to get rid of it, now would you?" And I hope this broadens their horizons a bit more so they don't say things like that anymore. If someone mentions something completely off topic, moderators will close and lock the forum and tell them to take it to private messages. It's information, not bickering...even though it is fun sometimes.

Hi all, and TGIF :P
I liked B5, but it confused me some. I started seeing it inthe beginning, and
then left it, and a couple of years later, came back to check it out, and boy,
was I really confused.
.
As for Star Trek. I'm an original fan :P but at least it didn't confuse me :P
I like both (don't get me wrong) but from last I remembered, neither one are
on any more. I don't have Satellite (I got rid ot it, due to the too many
jimmied source quality)
.
I'm now thinking about going back to Cable (or ditital cable) - - At least it will
be analog and not full of DTC or Macro blocks. Antenna signals are block-free
(much like as if VHS/LD sources) so I'm really thinking about cable again haha..
..sorry for OT
have a great weekend all,
