HI I have alot of anime divx and xvid files that are at a ratio of 640 x 480 and on the new Philips DVP 642 the subs are to far at the bottom of the screen. What ratio do I need to make them fit on the screen plus what program should I use that well keep the same file size. Ive tried Dr. Divx but it makes the file bigger. Please help

if you're trying to convert to DVD, the file sizes are going to be much larger no matter what. You can just use TMPENGC which is free and use 'keep aspect ratio' option.
The new file size are probably going to be at least 4 times as big (i think).
I think you might be talking about playing xvid and divx with your dvd player, not mpeg2. If thats the case, I'm not really sure about a good program to just resize without reencoding and losing quality. -

If the subs are hard coded (not in separate file) there's nothing you can do, besides reencoding and adding a black border top & bottom. TVs always cut a piece from all sides - how much depends on make and model of TV. This is called overscan.
I've learned the hard way about overscan.
