    I just purchased a canon GL1 and was wondering if anyone has this camera sn what minidv tapes have worked best for them, i was looking into sony excellence and was wondering if anyone had tried these or can recommend others. thanx

    There are two grades of sony dv tapes. I am not sure what they are called but do NOT get the lower grade tapes. They suck!!!!! and I know from having a drawer full of these tapes with audio problems. Now I use the high grade tapes with no problem but they cost more. A lot of people use the fuji with no problem. A lot of people do use the sony low grade tapes with no problem too but a lot of people have had problems with these tapes.

    what about lens filters, what are "must have" filters for a camcorder and what brand are good and which ones should i stay away from?
