  1. Does it just change the GOP structure, throw away "I" frames?

    As far as I know: standard it changes the GOP structure, but it does not throw away the I frames. If I recall correctly it throws away the P frames.

    I have read somewhere that when "Deep analysis" is used, the bitrate is lowered, by the percentage the movie is shrinked.

    It works very well

    It works by reducing the number of binary digits in the
    numbers used to represent the video data.

    If you have a 6 bit number it can describe 64 different levels.
    If you change it to 5 , it can only represent 32 different levels ,
    hence the reduction in quality....and more than 15% reduction in size.
