  1. So here's what we're gonna do tonight...

I'm gonna to capture the show as a DV.avi file. Then I'm gonna study the overall quality and apply the appropriate filters to make sure I've got the best stream I can have. Then I'm gonna have TMPGEnc encode at the highest video resolution I can get away with, at least 8000 kbps. And only 2-Pass VBR is good enough for this type of episode, y'understand.

And LPCM audio, too. Why even consider compromising?

Then I'm going to author it on the last Taiyo Yuden DVD-R I have in stock right now (Sorry, FulciLives, but you'll be getting Maxell discs on your return shipment) that I've been saving for just this occasion. And of course a full-color disc label printed at the highest resolution I can squeeze out of my printer. Same with the artwork for the case, too.

And then, after a moment of tribute, we're gonna blow the disc into a million pieces with Ye Olde Trusty Desert Eagle .50 AE.

And then the vodka is gonna start flowin'...

    So, what are your plans?

Before you encode it...let me finish this new "see through" filter I have been working on....it automatically makes the clothes on the females transparent.

I'm not a fan of the show either, but be honest....if you could have a 1 on 1 or a 3 on 1 with Rachel, Monica and Pheobie.... you'd be right there. I know I would and my wife would just have to understand

I really like the show. You can count the network shows I like on one hand, but this is one of them. I'll never get tired of watching Rachel, Phoebe and Monica There was some really funny stuff on that show. One of my favorite scenes:

Joey: "Ross, isn't that how they do pants?"
    Ross: "Yeah .......in prison"

Now I need to find a vinyl Rachel

I think it's a funny show and I'll be watching the finale and the reruns for years to come. Just like saved by the bell, full house, growing pains......

I liked all those shows. Saved by the Bell is classic gold. And I actually enjoyed both Growing Pains and Full House.

Friends just seems to trendy and "relationshipy" and soap opera-ish. To be honest, I haven't seen more than two minutes at a time for like 10 years though. And only a few times at that.

I've also seen about two minutes of Will and Grace and I am still vomiting from it. Jesus christ, that show is awful.

  10. My wife just told me if I used my last Taiyo Yuden disc on the finale, she'd cut my balls off, puree them in the blender and grease the driveline on our truck with them.

She don't like Friends too much...

She took an immediate interest in the hobby when she found out I could capture and archive every single Law and Order episode on television. And M*A*S*H, and Whose Line Is It Anyway, and Absolutely Fabulous, and The Young Ones, and...

When I told her I wanted to upgrade my main computer to a dual Xeon system, and I explained the only real benefit was bragging rights, she said, and I quote: "I don't have a problem with that, but you'd better not chintz on any of the components. I don't want to hear you bitch because you put a $30 component in when you should've used a $50."

Have to admit I can watch the show if need be.i.e- don't feel like going in the other room while my girl is watching it(unlike judge Judy,Springer , etc where I dont last 30 seconds).

I learned to dislike show early on when the dweebs in medschool(95%) would invite me over for the weekly ,Thurs night, Friends viewings. (insert emoticon sticking finger down throat-vomiting here). They about died when I showed up with a 6-pack and a pack of smokes on a "school night".Big redflag. Who gets together in groups of 20 to watch a non-sports related , tv show? Something is suspect. Turned into the "ER" group viewings as an intern. Avoided like the plague.

Second, cant stand winers. Actually like Matt Damen. He was good in "Lost in Space".

Girls are easy on the eyes.

Anyway, dont really care its done. I thought the last episode was last year or the year before. Maybe that was Ally McBeal.

The actor in Lost in Space and who also plays Joey is Matt Leblanc. He'll have a Friends spinoff series next season.

I only started watching Friends the last few years mainly reruns which popup at different hours when there is nothing else on the tube. It's not geared for my age group but I think we can all appreciate the buddy bond of the group. The fact that every show has 3 or 4 subplots running through it helps make the shows move quickly.

I know about interns and bad television viewing habits they develop. I'll bet you're a closet "Sisters" fan too

You wish It's one of those cookie-cutter african-american sitcoms that have been deluging Fox the last few years. Canned laughter, a script that is just cut-and-pasted cliches and worn-out sexual innuendo. You know, the crap that makes up 99% of network television these days :P

I don't think there is a show called "Sisters" on FOX. I think it is on UPN.

I believe it's called "Girlfriends". I think all sitcoms suck ass(current ones anyway), but I think I would rather watch Girlfriends than Friends.

Come to think of it my viewing habits changed the day I retired. I hadn't realized how much useless information I picked up since.
