Is there a way you can change tmpgenc temp dir location ??
Or does it use one...when encoding the video stops half way but it keeps encoding and wondering maybee if hd temp folder is running out of space if its pointing to my c: drive as default...

I don't think, that TMPG uses a temp directory when encoding the video. It use the temp dir for some audio procedures and probably for cut/ join too.
Go to option> enviromental setting> general> Folder setting.
