    I've just installed 5.1 and downloaded the latest updates. O.S. is Win XP Pro. The capture card i am using is an "APOLLO PORT" 1394 compliant firewire card. When i capture in Ulead DVD Studio or Microsoft Moviemaker ....no problems. But when i come to capture using premiere i get no preview. i can't get any footage off sony dv deck I'm new to premiere, is it the firewire card that isn't compatible to Premiere???

    sorry i really cant help you, but i have seen a lot of posts on this forum about premiere having trouble capturing dv. you may want to search on adobe's site, but i am sure you have done this. i sort of have a question for you: does premiere work ok in xp, other than the problem you are having? i am getting a new pc soon with xp, and was wondering if i would still be able to use premiere.
