I recorder show on my DishPVR, then captured to computer. There was a glitch in the playback from PVR at one point. By playing the show back in slow motion 1/15sec on the PVR I could get through the glitch and capture a second short avi with all frames intact. Just a lot of extra frames.

So to replace the glitch with good frames I need a way to extract from my slo-mo clip every 15th frame starting at a known frame number and make a new avi clip. I'm somewhat familiar with AVISynth and could do it with a long chain of Trim command (as far as I know you can't loop in AVISynth ?).

Does anyone know a better way, have a script that would do it easier? I also have access to Vegas 4.0 at work but didn't see any quick way to do it inside that. I will use Vegas to patch the glitch with the new frames.

you lost me with what you are trying to do there - but virtualdub has decimate built in ... decimate by nFrames

  3. AVIsynth. Use "Selectevery" function. Also, use the trim function to get just that section.

Thanks for both replies. I didn't know about the VDub feature. That did what I wanted. I'm liking AVISynth more and more so will try out that SelectEvery function also. That should do it also if need to in the future.

    Love learning new techniques.
