What about KEEPING the menus and REMOVING the extras?
There is no way to completely remove the extras and keep the menus without reauthoring the dvd.

DVDStripper relies heavily on Ifoedit just to update the IFO's and that's how I came across most of the issues as people reported playback problems
missing audio streams is one of the bug issues that still isn't fixed, but we managed to get DVDStripper to trick Ifoedit into keeping the streams by using ghost streams and then taking them back out afterwards
I guess people will use whatever suits them but I think its all down to personal experiences, good or bad as to what they recommend -
