hi,

i have been trying to author a dvd made from video footage i have captured which needed to be edited, and also add a bonus audio section, with a static screen with the album name and song title, while the audio plays over. i am using tmpeg dvd author

the problem i have encountered is with the audio. at first i edited the master wave files and then used ffmpeggiu to change to ac3, but when played back on my standalone player it freezes and makes a loud buzz on any of theose tracks. tracks which were not made with ffmpeg and are as is, from the video play fine.

the audio from "bonus audio" does the same. my question is, if i want to use PCM audio instead how do i change the bit rates from 1411 kbps to 1536 kbps, as tmpeg wont accept anything else.

i tried converting it in tmpegenc which gave me a compliant file but the quality has suffered.

or is there a better way to create the ac3 files, or is there something wrong with authoring it this way.

my final question i thought id throw in as i cant find a solution anywhere, some of the video clips are ntsc, captured on a standalone dvd recorder, with a pal video which plays ntsc. it captures perfectly and in ntsc format, so for some things i can make an ntsc dvd, but on one of the compilations the majority of it is pal, so is there any good ways in converting 2 short clips from ntsc to pal, for the sake of continuity on this dvd.

thanks for any help you can give,

Baz
