I have a LF-E311 on my gateway. I use any burning program with it. Nero is what I've been using for several years and DVD-R as it does not burn to + disks. I've never used to burn to RAM disks though. Just what exactly is the nature of your problem? Give lots of detail!

  3. firstly i used DVD Decrypter to rip my files onto my hard drive, but seemed to be having problems, so i now use VCD Galaxy DVDRip ComboPack. all seems to go well, so i then use Intervideo DVD Copy to copy the files onto a disc. on the setting, i apply the 'fit to one disc' method on all dvds that i try & copy.
although on every disc in which i have tried to copy onto states that it has 'succesfully copied' that isn't the case...1 or 2 have worked but the vast majority haven't. Although they look as though they've copied correctly on the underside of the disc, some of them dont load up on my dvd players. the ones that do load up, only play so much of the dvd then just freeze....am i doing something wrong???

    Hardware
    Mashita DVD-Ram UJ-810

    Software
    VCD Galaxy DVD Rip ComboPack
    DVD Decrypter
    InterVideo DVD Copy

    Discs
    Bulkpaq
    Data Safe
    (both dvd-r)

hopefully this makes some sort of sense to someone out there...it not just let me know & i'll try & go more n depth.

  4. What RAM media are you using? It sounds like a media write quality issue. I assume you are playing these in a DVD Player that supports DVD-RAM.

  5. i'm using various media because i haven't found one yet which has continuosly worked for me.
    DataSafe dvd-r
    Bulqpak dvd-r.

is there a specific media type for DVD-RAM??

my dvd player does support RAM. coz some have copied correctly & play, whereas the large majority have failed to copy properly.

The Matchita DVD-Ram will write to DVD-R media only. At least mine does. You do not need to use RAM media.

Get your self DVD-Shrink ( Free ) and Nero Burning Rom ( Payware )which DVD Shrink will use to directly burn after ripping/transcoding ( if shrinking to fit to one disk ) Before I bought an external Sony DVD-+RW drive I did all my backups that way. Granted, the Matchita unly burns at 1x but it NEVER failed to produce a good burn that would play on any of my 7 DVD players I presently own. Yes it is ridiculous that anybody should have that many machines but, I do this stuff also for business ( weddings- events etc... )as well. It does come in handy when I have to test whether a disk will or will not play on a lot of different makes of players. Any way give this a try as to me, it's the easiest and symplest way to back up a DVD so far. No need to use a decrypter ( except for some problem disks ) as Shrink will do that for you.
