  1. OK, I have a mpeg files that obviously has problems. It is 2 hours in length but when I try and play it it only plays about 30 seconds then the picture freezes.

I have tried to fix with TMPGEnc and Mpeg Encoder and failed. When I play the file with my DivX player the video freezes but I can listen to the 2 hours of audio so it is there. Also tried Goldwave with no success.

Using VirtualDub I was able to save teh video portion as a AVI by selecting "No Audio", I was getting sync errors when I tried to save as a standard AVI with audio.

When I try and save the audio portion as a .WAV file I get part of it then get a "sync error." I'm not very proficient with VirtualDub and don't use it much.

If I can create a intact audio file I will be all set.

    Can anyone help or advise?

You might want to continue attempting to fix the mpeg first. Check the tools section for mpeg repair apps. Once you get that taken care of try opening the mpeg with Goldwave and save as your preferred audio format.
