  1. I finally broke down and tried out a payware (OK, trialware right now) authoring program. I must say, DVD Lab has done exactly what I wanted so far. Everything has been a go except for some weird bugginess at the start but that went away somehow. I cannot figure one thing out though. I want to make my buttons like this:

    1] Whatever button one does
    2] Whatever button two does
    3] you get the picture

I want to press the numeric buttons on my DVD remote control and navigate to the other menus. Thus far, only the arrow keys will select anything. What am I missing?

  2. Nothing. That's the way it works. That's not what the numeric buttons are for.

  3. Damn, I guess I got spoiled making (S)VCD menus with Nero that worked like that.

  4. I use DVD Lab, and on my Panasonic DVD player, I can push a single digit key to select a link. DVD Lab shows a small digit by the link when you are authoring a menu, that digit from the remote selects the link.

  5. It's a player specific feature. It doesn't depend on DVD-Lab (or any other tool). DVD-Lab just displays you the button number. Some players can use this number for navigation, some can't (as fmctm1sw discovered ) or won't have a numeric keyboard, for that matter. Normally these buttons are used to jump to a particular chapter/title.
