Converting ssa subs to srt?

Hi i'm trying to convert ssa subs to srt so I can change the size and color of the subs for frameserving with vdub. So far I've found this http://www.divx-digest.com/software/ssa2srt.html but it's an msdos prog and I dont know how to use it.
I also found this page http://www.akira.ru/osc/ssa2srt.php when I try to convert the file all I end up with is a text document.
Any help would be great. Also is there a way to change size/color of ssa subs be4 or when using the frameserve with vdub?

Subtitle Studio converts between any known (and some unknown) text based subs formats.
But to change font colors and sizes, ssa files are very easu to deal with:
Just open it in Notepad or equiv. and change line that starts with Style: What the different values correspond to are explained in the line above it. The color codes are 24 bit RGB in decimal format.
