  1. hi all, i am totaly newbie, i want to playback movies from the Hard drive
    smoothly without any problems , what happens is that during the playback the movie just freezes at certain parts of the film while the audio keeps running , and i have to move the "play slider" to skip this
    part and continue the rest of the movie, this happens always at certain
    parts of the movie but at some rare times it runs without problems, so why is it happening? and how can i fix this thing?...plz help
    i use windows media player 8 and tried also InterVideoWindvd 5 with the
    same problems, please help me in detailed steps as i am totaly newbie.

    my system is PIII 550 / 320ram Pc100 / HD 80GB 7200rpm / GFX Radeon7000 32DDR
    i ran the AVIcodec prog and attached an example for a movie that has
    the same problems while playback...thanx in Advance

    You wont get truely smooth play back from this film anyway, as it is running at 20fps, which is less that either film rate (24 fps) or or video rate (25 fps for PAL, 29.7 for NTSC).

    However, the symptoms you describe point more towards bad frames in the file you have. Try loading it into VirtualDub and saving it out as a new file. Tis will hopefully correct the problems in the original file, aloowing you to play it correctly.

    Try running it through Divfix and set it to cut out the bad parts.

    why dont you just play the dvd instead of some crappy quality TS that you most llikly downloaded .. not even a dvdrip (not that i am suggesting to to now download the dvdrip)
