  1. I just wanted again to help anyone using Apple to NOT UPDATE your versions of FCP to FCPHP! I am a huge fan of Apple FCP and don't want to startle anyone into thinking it is a bunk program, It isn't. But this release has hurt so many people (and slowed us down so much, we're losing a lot of business!)
Just wanted to throw anyone using this program a bone and let them know that the updated release will no doubt be out soon, but until then, don't update Peace and hope I help someone out (since we can't undo the update... we're all up a creek! )
Oh, damn... looks like you've got a case of the Mondays!

So what's wrong with it specifically? Speed?
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

I've updated to FCP HD and still, no problems for me. Speed is still good. No slow downs.

On some other boards I found out that FCPHD will ban you current SN if its a pirated one. Its working fine on my G4.

  6. That is not the prob (Serial # mine is very legit), but what a LOT of us have found is that there are scrubbing issues in the timeline (all these things started directly after the update keep in mind), render times on transitions are outrageous, spinning ball of death, and recognizing some external hd (that was fixed by trashing prefs). Most frustratingly are the timeline sticking ( you wait15- 20 seconds to jump forward5- 10 frames!, and issues dealing with timecode being off, not to mention even worse issues if capture gets out of sync, which is an issue to those using FCP still.
I would like to make the point that if you have updated, and all is working well than great!, but consider yourself lucky, cause there is a huge problem with this update that has been documented on many sites devoted to helping FCP users. (Apple is aware of the problem and the actual list is available somewhere on their site, it is a really LONG list of issues, and they have assured those of us making livings off of their product that there will be another update soon.)
So the better heading would be Update At Your Own RIsk Good luck out there! Peace
