  1. someone can tell me how to calcute the bitrate to recode a movie too long to put on a dvdr.

I want mo make backup of pearl harbor. i know i must keep the resolution of 752*576 for stand alone dvd compatibility but i have to reencode the movie.

Someone told me to use rempeg2. ok but waht are the settings ?

  2. Get a bitrate calculator from the tools section and put in the size of your DVD and the length of your movie, as well as the audio bitrate, it will tell you the average Video Bitrate to use

  3. I would advise you against using rempeg2 to do this...I would use TMPG....another note you do NOT have to keep 752x576, DVD standard also allows for 352x288. You will have to lower your bitrate some, so yes using a bitrate calculator is ideal, http://www.vcdhelp.com/calc

My question for you is whther or not you are trying to keep all the extra material that is on the DVD, beacuase that is another whole ball of wax.
