  1. Does anyone know if or how you can use Mail Washer pro for Yahoo mail accounts? They host my website and I want to fight spam on my website's email addy account. It would be a disaster for me to just change it but now I am getting lots of spams on it. I have the freebie for my regular internet provider and I like it. I emailed them about it but have had no repsonse.
Since you can trial the pro version before you buy I only have 26 days left of the trial and have not been able to set it up.

If any one who uses it and has a Yahoo account please let me know how you set it up

  2. not sure how to use mail washer pro since i never used it, but i looked it up it says it works with POP3, AOL, hotmail accounts nothing about yahoo. so what i'm thinking is that the only way for you to use it ( i'm assuming you're using the free yahoo account) is for you to upgrade your yahoo account to one of the paying one, Yahoo Mail Plus, with that they give you the POP3 and STMP server address so that you can use your yahoo email with Outlook/Express, so from there i think you can use the Mail Washer Pro software

now this is what i thinks so i could be wrong, but i hope this helps

    alright

  3. Thanks I already pay a monthly fee for webhosting which includes 5 email addresses under my domain name.

I don't feel I should pay twice for something Maybe I should find a new host that doesn't charge extra for an email account to go with it.

I use Mailwasher Pro with a few Yahoo accounts. What you need to do is to log into your account through your browser and click 'Mail Options'. On the next page, under the 'Management' section, click on 'POP Access and Forwarding'.

Now make sure the radio box next to 'Web & POP Access' is toggled on and click '[POP Settings]' right beside that to get the server names so you can setup Mailwasher.

The only downer is that if you want POP access, Yahoo will periodically send you crap. However, you can setup Mailwasher to just delete that. Oh, the irony...

and finally cut down on the tons of junk mail coming in. Yahoo has some spam filtering but that does not always work.

Nice to hear it. Mailwasher Pro (latest version) is well worth having, I think, if only for the colouring. Add all your trusted email addresses to the filters and then give it a week or two careful checking for any you've missed, right-clicking and allowing/blacklisting addresses the easy way. The longer you use it, the quicker it is just to trust your filter list and quickly scan the red lines.

You might want to periodically back up your 'Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\MailWasherPro' directory ocassionally. I had a bit of trouble lately where I had both hardware and software issues and in the process lost some of my settings. Believe me, having a working filter list for Mailwasher and then losing it truly reminds you just how much time you once wasted checking for that 'vital email'.
