System Specs:
P4P800 Deluxe motherboard
Intel P4 2.4GHz 800FSB Processor
Corsair XMS Extreme 2x512MB DDR400 2-3-2-6 Dual Channel RAM
GF FX5900 Ultra 256MB DDR Video Card
Hercules Fortissimo 7.1 Sound Card
Quad Seagate Barracuda 120GB 7200RPM in RAID 0+1
Windows XP Professional with SP1
Sony DCR-HC85 MiniDV Camcorder
All of the latest BIOS, drivers and updates for every device installed.
Can't capture DV in any way, shape or form through the onboard firewire without dropping frames or artifacts in video.
No problem if I disable it and add a Adaptec Fireconnect 4300 card.
Any suggestions????

It looks like you've done everything you can with your onboard Firewire. Unless you can find some info on some forum specific to your MB, it seems like the easiest thing would be to go with a PCI Firewire card.
