I am interested in converting VHS tapes to SVCD or DVD.I have purchased the Dazzle DVCII, but had to return it due to a conflict with my Athlon 1.2ghz system. I tried the WIN TV PVR, and it worked OK, but I had to use a software encoder to convert the mpeg2 to an SVCD format ( and this is slow). My question is: what capture cards will capture, hardware encode to mpeg2 in SVCD format so I can burn to CD or DVD without further rendering ??

You dont need to that if you capture to standard svcd settings...the only thing you might have to do is to multiplex the mpeg with svcd settings, it take some minutes. -
