Well... I've never had any problems with IFOEdit (except for the authoring part) and besides, I don't think I can use Ifoupdate the way described in your guide because the ifo files created by maestro are for the movie only, and not for all the PGC's like the original ones. I could use IFOupdate if I knew of a way to rip video and audio from an entire tileset without creating a weird delay. And yes... I know that IFOupdate has an option to create multiPGC chapter files... pretty handy. I hope you find some solution.Originally Posted by TheMatrixx

Hi Flarup. try demuxing the audio directly from the DVD with VobEdit. (Demux All Audio Streams). Let me know if it works. Post a screenshot of the Maestro after you have loaded the *.m2v file and the *.ac3 files, i wanna see the timings. IF THE DVD HAS MORE AUDIO FILES PUT THEM ALL TO SEE THE TIMINGS.

That seems a lot of work, so here are my alternatives.
I prefer to just play the dvd with the subs on, on the source dvd player, then record on a dvd on a dvd recorder, recording to a dvd. The result? Open subs perfectly timed on a dvd. Amount of time, about a minute, not including recording time.
For a dvd that has no subs, but does have Closed Captions. Play on the source dvd player & run the signal through a Telecaption II using the video caption out on the back, record on a dvd recorder. The result? A dvd with open captions that doesn't require a captioned tv to see. Amount of time, about a minute, not including recording time. -

Great job. But DVDMaestro can't (or I cannot) make multiple PGC
.
Is it possible to make multi-PGC DVD with DVDMaestro?
DVD-Lab Pro works fine with this, so I did copy "The Matrix" which is multi-PGC, though I got problems with menu (it doesn't work 100% - but 70-90%). But the problem with DVDLab is that you can add only 2 subtitles to a movie. Have you any clues?

Hi there.
I must say it´s a great guide. Done 4 movies within just a few days, and everything works great. DVDMeastro is not new for me so....
But; I do have one question:
Is there any way to change the text in the menu? I mean, when I have changed the subtitle from one language to another, it would be great to be able to change the text.
Pls, if you know....

Hi Anyone_xx, yes it is posible...but I don't know how. Sorry. Mabey I will found how to do that someday.

Hello eveyone:
Is there any way to use the last guide with shrunk movies. Thanks
-
Hi, jlspiderman and welcome to the forum. If you mean shrunk movies by DVD-5 or 4.7 Gb DVD movies...the answer is YES.
Why do you ask ? Do you have a problem ?Follow the white rabbit -
Flarup please make a screenshot of the error and post it here or send it in my private messages box !

Hello
TheMatrixx
I have tried your new guide and it works nice as hell...
The only problem is that the movie "crashes" whene it comes to the end of the movie. At the really end of the movie after the end credits it gets black and nothing happens. Is there anyway to fix so it jumps back to the menu?
Thx 4 a good translate of a very good guide
USiT -
Hi, USiT as I told you in your email...please put subtitle on another movie....2-3 movies...and see if are all the same at the end. If it's only this one....well...it happens some time. But if all are gonna crash at the end and not come back to the menu as supposed, I guess you are doing something wrong. Check very carefully all the options at IfoUpdate as in the guide picture.
Good luck.Follow the white rabbit -
Text in the warning Box "Chapter point position is invalid since it would violate the minimum allowable chapter length (0xc10c000b)"
Can any one please help me to explain thisBest Regards
Flarup -
And What about this
can any one please explain what that means
Text I this Warning Box "Asset overlapping detected. This can cause unexpected behavior. Choose undo to go bavk to the preious Or choose "list all subtitles" / the offending subtitles will be highlighted in red) and adjust the asset as requied"Best Regards
Flarup -
Flarup...the second warning ...the one with the Asset overlaping.....is from the subtitles...so enter the subtitles in SRT format in Subtitle Workshop and hit CTRL+I and fix the errors....till will be none...after you fix the errors save the subtitle as STL format and enter it in DVD Maestro again. This should take about half an hour....let me know is the warning still appears.
About the first warning....this a little hard....it's from the chapters...you must have a very short chapter...i have a movie like this...with a chapter at 1 minute....but you must have a chapter smaller than that....check the original movie and tell me if you have a chapter smaller than a minute or so.Follow the white rabbit -
Hi to all,
I'm having some problems with SubRip. I rip the subs from the original dvd and when I open the file in Subtitles Workshop most of the lines overlaping. I try to fix them but still some of them are overlap.
Why is this? I mean I rip the subs from the original dvd.
Someone help... -

Hello TheMatrixx,
First of all, I want to say, THANK YOU. Thank you for being so knowledgeable -- and so willing to share. While the various guides you have out there did not apply to my situation completely in a step-by-step fashion, I have had gratifying -- and repeatable success them.
I write to you now thinking that maybe sharing MY success might be worthwhile to someone reading the forum.
MY SITUATION:
I have recently authored a DVD of my old Super8 Film School projects from 20 years ago (anyone interested in the transfer equipment should wirte to me; I don't want to turn this forum into an advertisement for modified projectors). I've been having a great time editing my DV and authoring disks.
Then it suddenly hit me that I could share my films with my in-laws in Mexico. The thing is, most of them speak only Spanish, and I'm sorry to say I speak (and made films in the past) only in English. The solution? Add subtitles to my DVD! Unfortunately, only the NEXT version of my editing and authoring packages support subtitlles.

After running Rejig to remux all the original desired streams plus my new subtitles, dropping the VOBs back into the original DVD folder with the original IFOs seemed to keep killing my subpicture attributes on all my title sets. This is where IFOUpdate came in handy, it really seemed to look at the "Rejig authored" IFO and the original IFO and seemed to synthesize a useable NEW IFO -- except for the VIDEO_TS.IFO.
I wasn't sure if I should try using IFOUpdate to generate a new VIDEO_TS.IFO, or something else. The fact is, IFOUpdate was erroring out on me when I tried using it to synthesize a new VIDEO_TS... Here's what I ended up doing. I used IFOUpdate to correct the VTS Sectors on the original VIDEO_TS.IFO. Then I went in manually and turned on the subprciture attributes in each VTS entry in the original VIDEO_TS.IFO. I opened up the original VIDEO_TS.IFO file in IFOEdit, clicked on the VMC_VTS_ATRT, then went to the lower pane of the IFOEdit GUI and set VTSTT_VOBs from zero to one.
