I am encountering frequent crashes.
I am using a new ATI All-In-Wonder 9600 card to capture and display video. I'm running Windows XP home version on a 2.8 GB P4 with 512 MB of RAM. I have 2 software packages:
Pinnacle Studio version 8 that came with the video card
Roxio Creator Digital Media Suite 7
I'm capturing satellite signal fed into the video card using an S-video cable.
I am experiencing problems in both programs:
The Roxio suite seems better suited to the video capture, but it occasionally indicates that it is recording when it is not actually saving anything, or it starts to capture and then cuts off.
The Pinnacle Studio is better for editing; however, it will crash from time-to-time while I am in the middle of editing or burning a file. At the burn stage, the crashes are happening whether I burn directly to disc or burn to the hard drive and then burn the files onto a disc.
Has anyone had any experience with these programs, and can you offer any advice on getting around the problem?
