The firmware and readme file are located here:
http://superdrive.cynikal.net/
It's located towards the bottom of the page. That's the only solution for ripping and playing DVDs from other regions at this point.I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté." -
hi WW,
what's about the best ripper in the world, MACTHERIPPER 2.0....?!
will it be out soon ?!!!
cheers

It's in beta testing now. It should be released to the public within a week or two.

Hi! I'm not any computer expert and I'm afraid of doing any harm to my computer: I write this intro because I have this "region free" problem with my new Powerbook, and I was told to download (at my own risk, of course) this XXJ3 firmware. The problem is that investigating a litlle on the net, I realize that if anything goes wrong installing this "firmware", I may damage the machine and loose the Apple warranty.
I found that you have succesfully instaled the XXJ3, and now you can watch all DVD regions. What powerbook do you have? I own the 15' POWERBOOK ALUMINIUM SUPERDRIVE. Do you think it would work there??
Thanks! -

Hi Sascha! That was a quick answer! Thanks!
I already have the REGION X software: it was when I installed REGION X when I realized that I needed to change the firmware.
I'll try it and then I tell you...
Thanks again!!!
