Can someone tell me how to demux the wav from my avi file, and then encode video to mp2, and then return the wav to its matching mp2 for authoring, during which I would like to convert the audio to ac-3.

I use ProCoder and Tmpgenc for encoding, and I would just like these two programs to lay low and do nothing to my audio. Could there be an option to turn off all audio encoding during video encoding during a particular project?

That would be too simple right.

Load the video into TMPGEnc Plus!, but select ES (Video + Audio). This save as the two files you want: Video and an audio wave file. Now use Ffmpeggui to encode the wave file into an AC3 file.
    Hello.

Yes, but I want to make damn sure my wav file is not being re-encoded from wav to wav. I have a feeling that setting converts to pcm, which the file already is, and therefor can compromise. It looks to me like it resamples the wav when set to "pcm" during encoding, not leaves it alone.

Then why not load it into Gold Wave and save it as a wave file?
    Hello.

Thanks Tommy. That is perhaps the best way period. I just wondered if there was a way to have one more program that I don't have to f' with. I do know goldwave well, and consider that a lucky ace up my sleeve. Love that audio editor dearly.

But it would be cool if you simply encoded with tmp or whatever, and did video only, and were left with the wav from the avi still there for the picking. No other sw then would need be considered.
