  1. hi to all new to this but i have tmpg encoder and every time i try to use it i get an error after about 8% of encoding avi to mpeg any body got any ideas i cannot find the error log that has been generated i am using a 1400
    athlon proccessor 512mb ram 4 gig hard drive and win2000

  2. We need more specific info than that.What kind of file r u encoding? (Divx,VOB..)Do you have enough space on your HD? 4Gig is pretty small.

  3. hi shocker the only thing i can tell you about the file
    is that it is avi i downloaded it off the web it runs on windows media player i went into properties and it said avi
    it is 122mb long hope that helps or guide me on any more info that you need thanks

  5. MAYBE MPEG4? Is it a DVD rip or divx? if so do you have divx codecs installed? what exactly r u trying to do?

  6. hi shocker iam trying to convert it so i can copy it onto a cd so i can watch it on the dvd player and yes i have divx
    codecs installed as i said it runs ok for about 10% of the copy then it generates errors and shuts the program down

    WHAT TEMPLATES AND SETTINGS R U USING AND WHAT DVD MODEL R U TRYING TO PLAY WITH?

    R U SURE THAT YOU HAVE ENOUGH hd SPACE AVAILABLE?

  8. hi shocker i get a box come up when i am running tmpg and it says tmpg has generated errors and the program will close
    i cannot find the error log for it the dvd player is phillips and it works with copied films from the web but not in avi format only if they have been coverted first then burned with nero to vcd thanks for trying

  9. Have u tried the newest version of TMPGEnc? Sounds like windows is haveing problems with the TMPGEnc.

    Have you tried to use SOURCE RANGE and do a smaller portion of the Divx?

    What template do you use?

    multimedia file reader in enviroment setting or VideoCD (PAL).mcf as i use both also yes i have tried source range

  11. Somethings wrong with your windows. There sound like theres conflicts and you may (as a last resout)need to reinstall a fresh copy after formatting the HD.Dont do that yet though. Try downlding the latest version first and run vfpinstall first.

    This is what I ment by template. I use NTSC-VCD.mcf or NTSC-SVCD.mcf and adjust everything manually to get what I like.

  14. yes there the same. extract it into your TMPGEnc directory and doubleclick the install.

    Hi,
    try reïnstallin' your ASPI-drivers it could help !
    And after this try installing Cyberlink PowerDVD so you can use VOB-files in TMPGEnc !!!!!!

    It takes 4 me a long time to knows this tip !
    It helps on my Atlon comp my other (older) computer
    still refused, after 5 minutes i get a error and still can't find why ?
    So please try this tips !

  16. thank you shocker and zosten for your help i can now encode
    15 meg of avi to vcd then i get errors at adresses in tmpge.exe so i think i shall have to give up as i have tried all the things you have sugested and still no go still thanks for haveing a go i will just have to download already converted or wait untill there is a compatable encoder that works with my computer

    First of all, have you tried playing the avi with Medía player / similar software, and does it play correctly? (No jumps etc.) Your downloaded avi might have some errors even if it plays correctly.

    Try frameserving it with VirtualDub, that should help.

  18. hi roopet yes the avi plays great through media player and other players like realplayer i shall see what VirtualDub can do as i have not used it before i shall go find it now and let you know

    no problems pleyed fine just tried to encode it same thing
