  1. i was wondering if anyone might know why when i author a dvd the saturation of the footage changes.

the dvd contains three video clips made in premiere. the original footage was shot on a mini dv cam.

from premiere i am exporting to avi, then to mpeg with tmpgenc

the clips look great right up until i compile the dvd in dvd-lab, however afterwards the clips and the menus all have an over saturated red glow.

i have tried using reelDVD to author and get the same problem.

    any ideas would be great.
    thank you

This sounds more like your tv is pumped hard to red shift. How do you view the authored disc? On a tv?

  3. i'm viewing the clips on both my pc monitor and the tv. dual display setup.

it's definately not the screen. when i preview the mpegs before authoring, the picture is fine.

How are you viewing the compiled DVD? If you are watching it with Power DVD there are various pre-sets for the video picture (Bright, Theatre, etc) as well as custom settings and there is also their automatic color correction which I think they call CLEV.

Also, what happens if you go ahead and burn the DVD and watch it on your set top?
