I have a Leadtek 2000XP Deluxe that I was previously very happy with capturing from an old VHS-C camera tapes. I recently tried capturing from my VCR and a copy of a home video tape (Hi8) connected with a coax cable. The colors looked washed out on both the capture tranfered to DVD and computer viewing. I used both Winfast PVR and Ulead VS7 to capture .avi mjpeg and various resolutions. They all looked washed out. Any ideas? It doesn't seem like it could be the connection since the vcr is connected to the TV via caox as well.

You have to enhance the saturn and maby the hue in your capture program (use to be in video --> Settings).
But this is the hardest thing I know if you´re lucky youget it right if you do wrong you either get the picture to bright or to dark.

In the programs ive use iuVCR and Showshifter the tvchannels get good colours but from s-video & composite i have to turn in more saturn by my self, i have never tried to capture from an coax hocked up into an vcr or videocamera always capture from s-video.

Thanks, I had forgotten about the video controls. Ulead doesn't appear to have them, but Winfast PVR does. I am interested in trying Virtual VCR, but haven't gotten it to find channel 3 on the TV tuner for the VCR. Does Virtual have better controls than Winfast for capturing from VHS? I like Winfast since it is easy and I can set the file size, since I have 98. I guess the only problem is that it won't capture at 352x480.

Not sure of which pvr ver I was using but I could cap at 352x480. However when I checked clip properties it showed audio as 44100, not 48 to be dvd compliant.

Just bought daughter the card and it cme with ver 3.5
It does not have 353x480, but 320x480. If I stard with the dvd profile to make the custom ones, it retains the 48 audio and caps ok. Have not authored and burned to disc yet to check final compatability
