  1. Hi guys

I try to make 5 second mpeg2 Movie to attach in beginning of already existing DVD. I use TMPGenc to encode the new file at following specs which is same with original DVD:

    Bit Rate = 8 megabit
    Size = 720x480
    Aspect Ratio = 4:3display
    Frame Rate = 29.97
    Video Format = NTSC
    Encode mode = interlace
DC component prevision = 10 bit
    GOP = Standard

And “TMPGEnc's MPEG TOOLS” couldn't join them and said:

"File VTS_01_0.m2v is not compatible with MPEG file."

so I tried to read original info by ReStream and following image is the result:

There’s following different: (which ReStream was Unable to modify the original M2V file or even my file to match them in some way.)

    - GOP
    - Scan mode (Zig-Zag)
    - SDE (Sequence Display Extension)

Please help me how to encode the new file that can be match with new file

    PLEASE! PLEASE!
This is so urgent for me.

I'm not sure about all your settings, but I do know that it's probably better not to join the mpegs. Use your authoring program and just add the two files one after the other so that they will play back in sequence.

  3. Thanks for your prompt reply

Of course I know that they can playback in dvd player but for certain reasons I will have to put them in single file.

    Thanks agian

Have you tried joining with Womble MPEG VCR?

  5. Yes, basically that software sucks.

However I could manage to find the problem, I tried other encoder (CCE) to encode same ZIG-ZAG for block scan mode and then after that I could join it.

After all TMPGEnc proved to me that its not best since it doesn't have this zig-zag option and I had to use something else, which it waste 8 hours of my time.

    Thanks for your prompt replies.

  6. But why do you need to join it before authoring? I agree with Zippy.

  7. Basically the country I am releasing the DVD (IRAN) has absoluately no Copyright Protection for authors (Movie, Software, Music and etc) and after all encryption stuff I do I believe they will copy my tranlsation job so at least I want to have my own mark on the movie that shows who the hell I am. (Most probably after converting to VCD)

    Hope it helps
    thanks for your replies

    PS: Problem is fixed.

Glad you fixed the problem but I disagree with the above statement. Womble MPEG VCR has never given me a single problem. I use it almost every day.

  9. I never meant that software is Buggy, I just hate all those software which is re-encoding or reduce codec quality.

It is not its problem or bug but its the nature of it.

Sorry for any offend to you.

  10. Ok, its a matter of credits, then i understand. But they can still cut it out when authoring it to VCD

No problem, friend. I just wanted to offer another opinion in the event someone was discouraged from using the product solely based on your comments.

    Cheers

Womble does not re-encode the video when doing simple cuts or joins. Qualtiy is not reduced. It's probably the best mpeg editing prog out there.
