  1. hey,
does anybody know if these have a shiny or a silver mate finish?

    seem like a good deal

    thanks much

  2. I'm not too sure if that matters with regard to +R discs. I know this is an issue with -Rs, many users find mattes more reliable than shiny tops, because of fake media concerns.

    they're fair, I guess.
Encountered some bad discs in the spindle.
I still prefer Fuji by far.

  4. I'm not an expert guys, so help me out. What makes the above different from these ones:

Same company right? I have had no problems so far with the discs at the above link, gone through two 50 spindles. Just thought I might same a few bucks if these is no difference in quiality.

    thanks

  5. If you check the comments in the user section of Newegg you will see that one is RITEK R03 and the other is RICOH outsourced by Ritek. RICOHJPNR01 is a code for 4X Ritek and R03 is the code for 8X Ritek. Both receive good reviews from users in the tab section to the left. I would be concerned about the 100 pack at that price as the R03 is generally over $1.10

If they are really selling R03 at that price it is a bargain.
Still a few bugs in the system...

  6. I finally received my raincheck 100 pack of mystery DVD+Rs 2.4X from Office Max this past weekend. This was for the sale they had in February for $39.99. They didn't bring in anymore of the Arita discs and gave me a spindle of the Ridata discs that look exactly like the ones you are asking about. They are matte finish and branded with Ridata on top. DVD Decrypter gives me a media code of RICOHJPNR01.

  7. Our Officemax had 100 packs of Ridata brand shrink wrap media sitting where the Arita 2.4 discs should have been, priced at $89 I believe. They had 4x on the label I recall and are +R. I was tempted, but wanted to ascertain who made it before I spend another big sum on media that my Plextor will not burn (it didn't like the inkjet printable Riteks, for example.)

Are these Ricoh? If so, I will be there in a NY second....

Try looking at the DVD Media List on the left side and search for Ridata 4x DVD+R. Looks like the discs could be either RITEK...R02, RITEK...R03, or RICOHJPNR01. All three have good comments and there was only one person who complained about the RITEK...R02. All I know is my 100 pack is packaged with the exact same label as the one on the Newegg site (blue label with the yellow arrow and skier). I haven't burned any discs yet but I did check the media code and they are RICOHJPNR01 so I am very happy.
