  1. I just got a NEC 2500a dvd 8x +r/-r/+rw/-rw and i'm learning how to do this dvd thingy.

i was just wondering cause i have a few mini series of Japanese dramas and i want to put them all on 1 disc. If i burned a data dvd they would all fit, but can i put them all on 1 dvd and play the videos on my dvd player. There's about 11 files generally. If i convert them then it will fill the dvd with just one, if i lower the quality with that TMPGenc app then it looks like crap, they'd all fit then but idk. What do you all sugest? I know they sell these series on dvd's, maybe their like 9gb dual layer ones idk...

    thanks for your help

If you encode to Divx format, then you can burn about 7hrs in one DVD disc (4.7G bytes). But you must have a DVD player that support Divx format before you do that.

Alternatively you could re-encode your movies with TMPGEnc with a bitrate of around 2500kbps using a 352x480/576(480 for NTSC 576 for PAL) resolution and fit 3-4 hours one one DVD that will play in your DVD player. Or you can fit 7 hours by encoding as VCD and authoring to a DVD(just make sure you choose 48000hz as the audio sampling rate). It all depends on how much quality you are willing to sacrifice. Play with the numbers yourself by using the DVDRhelp Bitrate Calculator.

Yes. But as I said, make sure you select 48000hz as the audio sampling rate. The default VCD template value is 44100hz and is not DVD compliant.

Don't let the post count fool you. I've been spending time in the "off topic" forum lately.

I'm afraid I can't help you with your other situation. Be patient though. There are plenty of people around here that know more about those kinds of problems. Good luck.

That should work out fine. Even if you forget to set the correct audio sampling rate, DVD Lab will resample it for you.
