I have a Khypermedia 8x drive ( Benq) and ripped a DVD to my hard drive. That seems to work okay as I can play the movie from the HD. But can't burn any dvds. Any I put in the drive DVD Info shows Allocation Length incorrect when I go to format the disc. I have 2 questions:

    1. On all discs do you have to format them first?

    2. Should I try new media first or new drive?

I have tried many programs to burn and can't burn anything ( DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter etc. HELP!

It seems to me that you need to compress the files down to 4.3 GB's otherwise your burner software won't let you proceed. Set DVDShrink to a size limit of 4464MB.

I did shrink it and I think correctly. It shows 4.35 gig on my drive and when I go to shrink it again ( from movie disk) it shows my shrink ration at 57%. So I don't think that's my problem.

Is there a setting on your software which specifies what media you are
burning to and the size for it? Also, make sure to copy the movie as data
files. Copy both folders: VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS in their entirety
(meaning, don't copy the contents inside them) Actually, only the
VIDEO_TS folder will hold files. The AUDIO_TS folder will be empty, but
make sure to also copy it. This is for compatibility with older players.
