Hi there!
This is my first post, so, as you can see, I am a newbie![]()
I have been trying to make a vcd with subtitles and during the process I intall so many codecs and programs that I almost destroy my computer.
But, I manage to clear them and now I have install:
DIVX Codecs (3.11 4 and 5)
Xvid codec
FFdShow
Ac3 Filter
3ivx D4 codec
I belive there are many others in my computer sinbce Gspot tells me I have 52 video codecs and 32 audio!
The thing is that I download a big Movie file from E-mule, it is an Opera (La Boheme) and it is 744 MB.
I tried everything with these file:
I run it in different programs (WMP, Divx Player, WinAmp...) and in some works and in others dont.
The only place where I get something of it was in Divx Player. I only got the sound. But no image!!!
I will try to paste an image of the details of Gspot, but actually it says that i have 3 codecs installed to see the video.
3 others to hear the sound and the rendering is succsessful.
Here is the image:
What can I do? The file seems to be ready to play but the only program that runs it is Divx Player and I have no image!
Thanks for your help.
pd: sorry for my english, i am from argentina![]()

Have a little patience.
If the movie is available commercially, you may want to buy it and avoid the hassle of conversion. I found a few versions here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/103-5193485-0060642 -
Hello, Diego. Welcome to the forum. The first thing I need to ask is if you could specify what kind of audio and video compression your movie has. The G-spot image was a little too small for me to read. By the way, your English is quite good. Ten times better than my Spanish, and I'm Mexican!

hable inglés por favor. It's grosero hacer los postes que pocos personas pueden leer. Gracias

Well don't I feel like an idiot! I had no idea it was a thumbnail. I see that your system is set to decode xvid with the Divx decoder. Try installing FFDSHOW. Normally I would say to install the xvid codec but since you want to convert to VCD, you're better off with FFDSHOW because TMPGEnc will convert better that way.

Thanks for your quick answer teegee420!
So, I have installed the FFDSHOW (made no configuration)
and well, I have good news and bad news...
The bad news are that i can get the image yet but i still have sound.
The good ones are that the Divx Player before intalling the FFDSHOW was a black screen all the time. Now is blue and it is trying to do something but i can get the image yet.
I am just waiting to be avaible to see it in my computer so i can burn it to a vcd!
Keep helping me please!
thanks again!

Ok, then disable xvid on the FFDSHOW configuration utility. You should find it in the FFDSHOW folder in your start menu programs group. All you have to do is uncheck "xvid" in the codecs screen.
At this point you might as well try installing the xvid codec. If that doesn't work I'm all out of ideas. -

Converting VOB file to MP4 file. Video is perfect, audio is nonexistent.
