  1. I have a DVD burner (just got it), I d/l a movie and it came in .bin .cue format, I converted into an .mpg using ISOBUSTER...But how do I burn this to a dvd+r, what program do I use, and do i need to convert this .mpg into another format to burn. Or can i just burn the video in .mpg format. Also, the movie I d/l, the audio is about 1 second delayed behind the video. Is this a fixable problem? How can I fix it?

So, basically how can I burn this .mpg onto a dvd+R so it plays in my DVD player, and how can I fix the audio delay???

    -Thanks a lot...

  2. ALSO!!

I use Microsoft Media Player to play the MPEG. Does converting it from MPEG to DVD make it better quality? How come its better to convert it to DVD rather than just burn it as a MPEG. And is it possible to d/l menus for the movies, b/c i noticed that the downloaded ones do not have menus?

    quality?
    audio delay?
    dvd vs. mpeg?
    menus?

What are the specs of the mpeg? Open it with Virtualdub MPEG2 and go to File>File Information. Post the resolution, frame rate and average bitrate. Oh, and forget about finding a menu to download. You'll have to make your own.

the mpeg has to be mpeg 2. yes you can add menu's. Use an encoder like TMPGenc. or TMPGDvdauthor or something along these lines. You need to do a bunch more reading. Encoding video is not as easy as it looks or sounds. Took me months to get all the kinks worked out.

Not necessarily. It could be VCD(mpeg-1), which is much easier to author to DVD than SVCD. SVCD doesn't have a DVD spec resolution and needs to either be patched, or re-encoded all together depending on how picky your DVD player is.

That should do it. You're in look because this shouldn't be too difficult. All you need to do is drop your mpeg(s) in TMPGEnc DVD author and it will resample the audio to 48000hz(which is necessary for DVD spec). You can use the same program to create menus and burn too. It's trialware but fully functional for 30 days I believe. Also, when authoring your mpegs to DVD, don't expect any quality increase in terms of picture sharpness etc. Garbage in = garbage out.

  19. Here is what it says at the bottom of TMPGEnc

    MPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 192kbps

One more thing, you didn't mention the frame rate of the mpeg. If you live in North America or Japan which use the NTSC video system the movie must be 29.97fps in order to be playable on most DVD players(some support 25fps). If you live in PAL land it shouldn't matter either way.

You don't need to use TMPGEnc at all. I said to use TMPGEnc DVD Author. It's a different program. I suggest that one because it's relatively easy to use and I know that it converts the audio easily too.

Hmmmm ....righteous indignation. Just so we know who the jerk really is, here are quotes from a few of your more memorable posts. This is all I have time for right now, but there are many like these:

You need to read some how-to's, dude. Click on the TMPGENc DVD Author link and towards the middle of the page you'll see "Guides For This Tool". There's a guide for converting VCD to DVD.

Once you open the bin in ISOBuster, browse to the MPEGAV folder. Right click the dat file and select "export mpeg frames" or something like that. There are guides for this tool too.
