  1. Ok, I got a JVC HR-S5965EK (In UK) and I'm having a number of issues with it.

1: How on earth do I get colour on the PC? I'm outputting an svideo signal via a SCART adapter and it still shows up on the PC as black and white. I believe I've enabled SVHS on the VCR itself, but I'm not certain because it tells you in the manual about an SVHS ET mode button on the VCR which I can't find at all. Is there any 'easy' way of making this happen?

2: How can I hook up TV Out while also hooking the other SCART socket to my TV when it appears only one SCART is outputting at all? It says 'in' decoding etc - how do I have 2 SCART outputs? My other VCR has 2.

    Thanks for any help.

Hi - well, one suggestion is to check out your s-video connection. I use a Hauppauge 250 video capture card and when I first connected it I found I was only getting a monochrome picture. As s-video is made up of chrominance & luminance (colour & brightness, basically) I guessed that maybe the colour signal wasn't getting through.
Sure enough, a quick examination of the lead showed that a pin was bent at one end - unbent the pin; sorted!

No guarantees, obviously, but worth a quick look.

    Good luck!

    I don't understand the question
Wolfman - nope, no bendage (!)

Ok, *now* I'm baffled - I just ran dscaler and like before, I tried force composite through svideo, and again, it's colour, like with my old VCR. Try pure svideo and it was black and white.
I got the new VCR specifically so I could avoid using dscaler!
I need svideo and I'm utterly confused as to what's wrong.
