  1. I plan to download alot of shows and movies through newsgroups and I want to back them up to CDR or maybe burn as SVCD/VCD. I normally use TDK cdrs for all my backup and audio cd stuff, and have been VERY happy with their quality(none failed yet out of maybe 200). But they are kinda high(39.99 per 100). I wanted to know if the Circuit City branded cdrs are any good? They were pretty cheap. Like 20 per 100 the last time I saw them. I dont want to buy those bulk unlabeled cheap shit cdrs because I know many fail during or shortly after a burn.

I just want to be able to burn without going broke.

I have had good experiences with Imation brand CD-Rs I bought at Best Buy. The two spindles came out to $15 total after instant and mail in rebate (Imation did send me a check. The discs were CMCs but they all seemed to burn fine and continue to work (I haven't checked all 100 recently though. I used them for VCDs, xVCDs, audio CDs, data CDs, and MP3 cds. Good value I say.

Fujifilm 100 pack for $25 however. No rebate check yet! And these discs suck. The Fujifilm are Prodisc and I have had bad experiences with Prodisc CD-R media before.

  4. Yeah I to have heard alot of bad stuff about CMC products, and since they make alot of the cheap brands thats why I asked about quality issues.

I like these. Taiyo Yudens are some of the best you can get. $28 for a spindle of 100 but shipping is high from Rima.
