  1. alright i have tmpge 2.5 version
    windows xp pro
i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice now
everytime i try and use merge and cut and open the mpeg that i want to cut some parts out of it comes up with windows error and experienced a problems and do i want to send the message to microsoft

what are some of my other options. I've used ulead dvd version 2 in the past, but have version 3 now. In the past I had issues with audio matching up with video so I'm reluctant to use it.

Is version 3 any better? What are some other options out there? I'm disappointed because I've always used tmpge and usually don't have any problems, but thats not the case this time

Have you tried it with more than just one MPEG ?

and can you tell me the exact Windows error ? I may be able to help.

    Is it MPEG-1 or MPEG-2.

  3. its an mpeg that I created with eazyvcd. I think I chose the svcd option. Create an mpeg instead of bin/cue files, which is what I want. I'm trying to create mpegs from my favorite dvd's, then i want to take all the best parts and put them on 1 dvd. I don't remember the windows error, let me see if I can generate it again.

version of tmpge, tmpge plus 2.521.58.169

okay, it loads the mpeg fine when I click on add and then browse to the .mpeg file. Then about 5 seconds later it comes up with the following error.

TMPGnc.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

Please tell Microsoft about this problem.
We have create an error report that you can send us. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous.

just tried it with another mpeg file, seems to be working fine. What would cause it to do this with the file that i created from eazyvcd version 1.5

    thanks

It's hard to say exactly, but there could have been an error in the file or something.

Or it could be that TMPGEnc doesn't like the chapter points you've put in with eazyvcd if you have put them in.

  5. nah, i'm just basically chosing the default options with eazyvcd 1.15a
on the bottom left i chose, svcd and then on the right say make mpeg files, no split just 1 file

what other options do you suggest for creating an mpeg from a dvd? i have dvd2mpeg installed, but when I try and run it it asks for some panasonic encoder thing or what not

Why not just use TMPGEnc to make your mpegs ?

OOPs , my bad, I was thinking about the other vcdeasy. DOH.

I can't imagine why TMPGEnc would mess with files it made on it's own.

There are some other options. I use dvd2avi, make a project, then use TMPGenc. Or i use vfapi converter to make a dummy avi file and use main concepts mpeg encoder.

You could also just set up the source range in TMPGEnc to make the exact part you want so you don't have to encode the whole flick.

The way I do this is to use eazyvcd, and uncheck "delete temp files"

Then once it opens TMPGEnc, I stop it, open up TMpgenc, pload the d2v file into tmpgenc along with the .wav file, then in advanced settings set up the source range.
