hi. i got a little problem here
i downloaded an avi file. i encoded it by tmpgc and made it vcd ntsc (film) the one with the 23.97 fpc cause i want it to look better to watch. then the words "Processing Inverse Telecine" showed up. i waited for a while till it started encoding. when i tried to burn it, an error shows up and haulting the writing halfway.
at first i thought my burner is starting to die on me, but after burning other data disc and vcds form other avi files, my burner pulls out the job.
i tried once again burning it but still an error shows up. i already wasted 3 cdrs experimenting on it but all failed.
my burner is just generic but it seems that still works to other files.
if anybody can help me, i would really appreciate it.

Where did those words show up, what software?
What are you burning with?
What is the original fps rate?Cheers, Jim
My DVDLab Guides -
my encoder is the latest Tmpgc
and ive always turning avi files to vcd ntsc film (23.97 fps)
my burning software is nero 6.3.1.6
my burner is just generic with a write of 8x (that low, yes)
i dont know how to check the original fps though
when i use virtualdub on the avi file, there is an error about the audio codec (something about the vbr and acm, you know) so i saved a converted wav file for the audio. other than this, i dont know if the virtualdub could help about my writing problem. -
What???? Downloading movies from a torrents site and then being naive enough to discuss it here??? This should open up the flood gates.
Really now, you should know how to compose your post so it does not invite the admonishments that are sure to comeNo DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
Firstly, I would open it in Gspot.
Get the correct codec installed.
Run it through Vdub and clean it up as best you can, re-encoded into a standard DivX.
Then encode and burn.
Check the original fps in gspot, it may be a 14.985, which is half 29.97 NTSC, and you're gonna get a jerky output, no matter what you do.
At best, these types of downloaded junk are good for VCD only.
(I will refrain from assuming that this is an illegal rip/copy)Cheers, Jim

So first things first. Buy CDRW to stop your wastage only if you dont want decorate the wlls with the coasters you got
and secondly, you must read here http://www.gkhull.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/avitosvcdguide.htm to get a detail of how you could find out the fps and other shi% like that. Do as the guide says. It is very easy to follow and don't rush anything.
Note that the stage when you will be about to begin encoding of SVCD using Tmpegenc, choose VCD instead of SVCD and carry on. Thank me if it works
