One of these question, that get asked every 2nd day. I should start to save these Q+A's to add it to the FAQ
    OK, here is the checklist:
dvd2avi.vfp is in the same directory like dvd2avi.exe
TMPGEnc.vfp is in the same directory like TMPGEnc.exe
    run TMPGENcVFP_INSTALL.bat
check TMPGEnc vfp is registered to VFAPI (TMPG>option)
    check VFAPI plugin (dvd2avi>help)
    TMPG> option> enviromental setting> VFAPI> check dvd2avi project file reader and/or select a higher priority.
Do not delete or move the .vob files. Open *.d2v with wordpad to check the correct path.

  3. here are some soloutions:
did u install th vfapi plugin

did u copy the dvd2avi.vfp on ur TMPGEnc directory

u should not delete the vobs file becuase the d2v file only show TMPGEnc where the vobs are and encode it threw the d2v file.

    this should solve the problem

    Master Pinnoy and/or Master Sefy,

I think I have found the problem as to why I have not been able to jump up to the light. This is what I have found:
Under the Pearl Harbor title(on my hard drive), there is a file that has a ton of vob, ifo, and bup files. How far is this step? Does this mean that I DO have the VFAPI plug-in? I don't recall doing that step last time. Where do I start from this point? Can I burn now?

Also, even though I have played the entire disc on my computer, when I was going over all the steps tonight, there was a huge, blue box that said something about a parental control not allowing me to play the movie in DVD2AVI. What??? Is THIS where I fall off the path?

You can email me if you like, but I came across this old post and it helped me(I think.LOL)

Thank you for that helpful answer, Dhruv. So perceptive of you, too. What I am really needing is something in the way of useful information pertaining to my questions. Aside from the spelling correction, can YOU help me? Obviously not, or you wouldn't have spread that Christmas cheer!

    Happy Holidays,
    Tracey

  8. Tracey-San,

First, make sure that your DVD2AVI.VFP is where TMPGEnc.VFP and the TMPGEnc.EXE and the whole other files are also int he same location

As for how far you are, you just ripped, that's the first step, no you gotta use DVD2AVI to create a D2V/WAV files

    Good Luck!

And if that drink has a bit of alcohol in it, I would not even recommand letting me have it, as I don't drink at all (not even beer, ya you can laugh at my expense) I'm flat out after 15 min if I have accidently had any alcohol, because my blood has no resistance to it

    As for now
Merry Christmas and Happy Chanuka and Wonderful New Year

Which reminds me, i'm working on v1.9 of the guide, so I won't be around soon, I want it ready for the new year

  11. I am a newbie and had this same problem. I followed Truman's advice to the letter and found it still would not work. However, I was using the d2v files that were made BEFORE I added the .vfp files to their proper place. So, I went back to DVD2AVI and recut the files I needed and they opened right up in Tmpgenc.

That one extra step might help someone out! Thanks for the advice.

  13. If all else fails, I suggest you re-do!
    1) Download TMPGEnc+VFAPI from www.tmpgenc.net
    2) Download DVD2AVI from the link Truman kindly provided
    3) DELETE your current TMPGEnc folder (unless you got unrelated files there)
    4) Unzip ALL 3 files you downloaded into the SAME place (eg: C:\TMPGENC )
    5) Run the installation Batch file.
    6) Use DVD2AVI to re-create your D2V/WAV files

This works 99% of the time, if this doesn't help you, I have no idea what will
